NASCAR is about racing, about fun and sometimes, it's about celebrities too. Let's admit it, NASCAR wouldn't be any fun to watch at all if there weren't any temper tantrums thrown and no big names. Over the years, NASCAR racers have evolved into something of a sport celebrity…like Tiger Woods in golf and Michael Jordon in basketball. According to Batesville Daily Guard, a couple from Michigan waited 15 hours just to get the autograph of big names in NASCAR like Dale Jarrett, Carl Edwards and Mark Martin. The three were there for an autograph signing session and couple camped out just to get their autographs!
The couple said that their entire meeting, dating, engagement and marriage has everything to do with NASCAR racers. This is how the trend is now – there are many NASCAR fanatics scurrying around all over the US . It has gotten so crazy among NASCAR fans that some are proposing and getting married in NASCAR themed clothes and wedding attire. Talk about fanatical. Some couples chose their honeymoon destinations based on the hometown of their favorite NASCAR racers.
If taken at this level, is this fanatical habit healthy? Is it just a tad too much? NASCAR is just about racing, isn't it? But nope, to NASCAR fans, the racers are definitely larger than life. “I can't believe I was looking at this man, Mark Martin, in the face when I've been watching him on my TV screen for years. I must admit I fancy the guy but…when you're standing right in front of him, he's really larger than life”, sighs Diana Billington about meeting Mark Martin for the first time.
Accordingly, if one is so consumed by NASCAR, it can be used as a bridge or bond between people. Sharing an interest and being in tune with each other important to a relationship. And when both are so passionate about something like NASCAR, it can be very good for the relationship.
If you're fanatical about NASCAR and the racers, go ahead and find a partner who shares the same passion. You'll spare this world of another divorce in the future.
