The heat is on for Johnson

If he doesn't get it this time, it's over for him this year. After the Talladega incident with his teammate, Brain Vickers, some crucial points were lost. If he had won the last time, his edge over the leader would have made a world of difference. But he didn't…and it was because of his teammate's, Vickers, indiscretion which saw Vickers claiming the trophy amidst ‘boos'.

Every team member knows that they should not wreck each other…this rule prevails irregardless of the situation. I bet Hendrick owner is none too happy with the result of Jimmie Johnson being booted out at the last race. Now Jimmie Johnson's chance of coming out on top is slimmer than a chopstick – however, not that the chance is gone but it's now much harder for Johnson. Thanks, not to a rival, but to a friend and teammate.

As we approach Lowe's Motor Speedway this weekend, we sit back and think about Jimmie Johnson's chances. Jimmie Johnson won five of the last seven points at previous races in Lowe's Motor Speedway and he's a favorite among the other racers. Lowe is pretty similar to Kansas Speedway and Jayhawk State and in those racetracks Lowe clearly had it. He had the dominant car and led some parts of the races. However, with the Talladega incident, he's lost some of the edge he's got over his rivals and we think that, perhaps, he won't win the championship but he will grab some of the other prestigious prizes up for grabs.

Johnson has to keep an eye out for Matt Kenseth because Kenseth is bringing his favorite car, the No.323 to Lowe. The No. 323 of Kenseth took the checkered flag in Michigan and Fontana . Mark Martin is another racer to look out for. Martin once said that The Lowe Motor Speedway is one of his favorite NASCAR tracks because he bagged four trophies there and also seventeen Top-Five. Although Denny Hamlin did badly in the last race in Talladega , he is still in the running; his job at Lowe is to stick with it to the end and not get too far behind the leaders. As simple as that – it's a job we think Denny Hamlin can do with his eyes closed.
