Montoya’s move

Many people have expressed concern and doubt about how much Juan Pablo Montoya will make out of his new move from F1 to stockcar racing. Some think that Montoya is merely in it for a quick ‘ride' and some think that Montoya will never get accustomed to the fact that he'll be riding is bigger and heavier car…compared to an F1 car, the stockcar is a MONSTER! The only similarity that a stockcar and an F1 car has is the fact that BOTH have a steering wheel, four wheels, accelerators and brakes. Ask any racecar driver who's had the chance to taste both types of cars and they'll tell you that they're completely different.

So, will Montoya make it in stockcar racing? This remains to be seen as Montoya has just gone in for his first test drive and we're all waiting to see if this speed demon will make it in the stockcar track as well as he did when he was with F1 McLaren. Montoya contends that the cars are bigger and heavier but if one keeps an open mind, takes up the challenge, work at it and make the right moves, things will be fine.

But obviously, fans want to know how ‘fine' is ‘fine'? But he assures his fans that there's really nothing much to worry about and the only thing that they have to give him is their patience and some time to get adjusted. He made the transition knowing that there will be high expectations for him to perform well because of his rapid rise in the F1 circuit giving Michael Schumacher a run for his money. Many people are expecting him to make some NASCAR big names shiver as well.

Montoya knows that this thing…this whole move from F1 to NASCAR is going to take some time, therefore, it's a long term deal and not a dip in the pond. Winning the first time he hits the NASCAR tracks is not in his plans although this daredevil ruled on the F1 circuits. On the NASCAR tracks, he's willing to take the time to learn the ropes properly.

It's been said that Montoya might be running for the ARCA, Busch and Nextel Cup this season. And fans and critics alike are waiting with bated breath….
