NASCAR and CASCAR together hand-in-hand

From a local motorsport race that has been exclusive to the US viewers alone, NASCAR is quickly crossing geographical boundaries as the fan base for this sport continues to grow and expand. “The growth is truly exponential. It's quite unbelievable because there are so many other types of motor racing sport that dominates the market overseas, like F1…but to know that many more people are learning how to love NASCAR is wonderful. They are more than welcome to come share the love for NASCAR racing with us”, said Kenny Patrick, a local NASCAR fan.

Canada , in particular, are beginning to catch up real fast and only yesterday, news about a new series were announced that they've bought over CASCAR. This is the Canadian version of NASCAR. CASCAR stands for Canadian Association for Stock Car Racing).

To start things off, the CASCAR will introduce the new series with the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. This series is reportedly going to be sponsored by Canadian Tire. The scheduled first race will be in May 2007 till around October 2007.

Although NASCAR has legally taken over the CASCAR races, they plan to use the current teams and drivers. There are many more things to be ironed out before the plans can be conclusive, for instance, the point funds and tracks. They will all be announced at a later date when everything's in black and white.

This ‘marriage' between NASCAR and CASCAR is a direct result of Tony Novotny's (the founder of CASCAR) repeated discussion with Jim Hunter, the vice president for NASCAR's corporate communication. All this while, the popularity of NASCAR in the north has been consistently growing and they thought it was time to bring them together.

The Canadian Busch Series is going to happen in the very near future and for now, the deal is still being ironed out. Hunter announced that the CASCAR deal is not part of the deal…not until some sanctions are worked out.

But many officials and professionals believe that it's a matter of time better NASCAR and CASCAR will work together to make the sport even more exciting than it is right now.
