NASCAR is fast and furious again

The adrenalin rush when watching a NASCAR race is undeniable. The speed and the excitement of it all – the noise, the cheering, the celebration. When NASCAR first started out, each and every race was fast and furious. The friction on track crept off-track and into the pits – and this made the races even more exciting to watch. NASCAR fans began to anticipate the drama and the fanfare the NASCAR rivals can come up with on-track as they kept track of the off-track activities. The popularity of NASCAR exploded.

But in recent years, we have seen less and less of such drama and the races have become, if not completely boring, predictable. It didn't help that there is only a handful of truly spectacular and talented drivers these days. NASCAR needed a facelift. Many NASCAR fans preferred to watch other types of motor sport eventually. The last time anyone saw any kind of drama was in the Carfaax 250 at the Michigan International Speedway where Junior and Carl Edwards had a rift on and off the track. Their heated ‘debate' later on made the following race even more exciting as NASCAR fans watched them closely.

After that, everything was docile and all NASCAR racers were polite to each other. Each time after a crash…even if it was a BIG one, everyone said that it was just the way ‘racing' is supposed to be.

It was in the UAW-Ford 500 that, finally, NASCAR fans finally got to see some action. There was the big crash and while others held back, Jeff Gordon couldn't contain his frustration and complained about Junior's knack of ‘push into the back of other people's car' while Junior shot back with his own sarcastic remark in return. NASCAR is back!

Many thought it was just a one-off incident…Junior and Gordon will iron their differences over a good game of golf. But in came Brain Vickers and this time, it hits closer to home than he would've liked – the rival is his teammate. In the recent incident, Vickers sent his teammate, Jimmie Johnson, spinning out together with their rival, Junior while he zoomed off to victory.

The spice and spats of NASCAR is pretty interesting with these rivalries, wouldn't you say?
