Second spot still open for Hamlin

NASCAR officials are already thinking of ways to make the races more exciting and fun for NASCAR racers and NASCAR fans alike. This coming weekend, a race will run in Kansas City . While Kevin Harvick is holding on to the top spot quite securely, other racers have had quite a bit of fun and luck in 2006 and are aiming for the second spot. One of them is Denny Hamlin. Hamlin's had quite an astonishing success this year and is currently riding on a end-of-season high waves.

Hamlin reckons that his team will enjoy more success at the year-end races because they are looking to turn things around. Although the team struggled a little after being taken out in Bristol , they've put all their efforts into ensuring that they get better results in the following races. Hamlin sets the record straight by saying that the run of bad results was not from lack of hard work or from lack of potential. But it was because of some bad breaks they have had to struggle a little. With six races left before the end of the season, can they do it? Do they have the time to?

There are several other NASCAR racers who are going to make Hamlin's goal a little harder to reach. Both Clint Bowyer and Carl Edwards have been doing really well…and the team predicts that they are going to work very hard reaching the second place – but it will make the last 6 NASCAR races all the more interesting!

In their bid to finish second, Hamlin's crew have been working overtime to make magic happen. Because their current setup is not bringing in the results that they are looking for, the crew has been working really hard and spending a lot of time rebuilding the car and working out a unique setup package. What happens if the setup proves to be worse than the earlier one? The team thinks that if the setup doesn't work, at least they will have something really solid to fall back on next NASCAR season.

Nevertheless, the Chevy team is aiming truly high this time and they have their fingers crossed that they can grab that Number Two spot that is, currently, still open and up for grabs!
