Come back, Burton
It's just amazing that someone of Ward Burton's caliber should be sitting at home wondering what to do with his NASCAR racing career. He's probably not begging to put food on his table but someone of his amazing racing talent should STILL be in NASCAR despite his advancing age. Age, after all, has nothing to do with racing. Skill and experience does. As of now, Ward Burton has no cup in sight after being released by CNC Racing owner, Gene Haas. Although Haas expressed deep gratitude for the contribution that Ward Burton has given to the team, it is time, he says to move on to another NASCAR driver. Haas, admits that Ward Burton is a man with amazing skill and talent. He has heart and became a formidable spokesperson for Haas while he was racing NASCAR for the team.
Fans of Ward Burton are hoping that Burton will land himself in one of the top 10 NASCAR teams in the coming year. He is a good NASCAR driver who should be left behind. Good NASCAR racers like Burton are hard to come by. Some Burton fans are hoping that Burton will be given another chance at grabbing the brass ring and that Kevin Harvick will slide out of the 29 car and Burton can slide in. Harvick, however, is another force to be reckoned with when he gets behind a NASCAR racecar. The only reason for Harvick to stop Harvick from getting behind car No. 29 is if he chooses NOT to get behind the wheel – it's hard to imagine why anyone would want to fire a fantastic NASCAR driver like Harvick.
The reality of NASCAR is that there will always be a time when a team will change their racers. New strategies, new technology, new pit crew, new engine, new tires….and new NASCAR racers. When the new comes in, the old will go out. This is a sad reality that Ward Burton fans will have to come to terms with.
Nevertheless, let's hope Ward Burton gets a ride soon and if he does, we'll welcome him back to NASCAR with wide open arms. And we think that's not a problem at all!
