NASCAR rains on Spain

With the introduction of Juan Pablo Montoya into the NASCAR scene, NASCAR is making major changes in the NASCAR scene. Spanish-speaking NASCAR or Montoya fans will now be able to understand and get updates NASCAR updates. This fabulous news was released on Monday. Spanish EPSN arm released that they will broadcast NASCAR in Spanish before and after the races, keeping Spanish NASCAR fans in the loop.

It's easy to see why since Montoya is almost like a F1 Hero in the eyes of many Spaniards, in and out of Spain . With the new development, NASCAR can expect to have a wider range of fans from the country and perhaps, in the future, garner a wider following from other parts of the world. This is ironic since NASCAR was developed for the entertainment of US residents in the beginning.

To make the deal even sweeter, Chip Ganassi Racing also announced recently that they will have a complete Spanish-based website dedicated to Montoya's foray into the world of NASCAR, fresh from Formula One racing. For those who are not familiar with the F1 and NASCAR scene, Montoya is a veteran and hero in F1 but recently quit it to join NASCAR. This has been a hot topic from the time rumors spread from the grapevine to the announcement and to his first few races behind the wheel of a NASCAR car.

It is not a secret that NASCAR is trying to make up for the lack of ethnic diversity in its racers. All this while, NASCAR racers comprise essentially of white Americans. Hence, the fans of NASCAR remain within the same ethnicity. With differing ethnicity among the racers, NASCAR can expect a wider range of audience…with will translate into more money later on.

At the moment EPSN Deportes intend to broadcast updates on only the top races which include the Craftsman Truck, Nextel Cup series and also the Busch. The content of the broadcast will come from MRN Radio. Basically, the broadcasts will be made available to states and places where Latinos reside most in the United States , like San Diego , Fresno and Bakersfield .
